Manchester United fans slammed Andre Onana after he gave away a late penalty in their side’s draw with Burnley

Erik ten Hag‘s men failed to build on from their midweek win over Sheffield United as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Clarets.

United had taken the lead in the 79th minute through Antony‘s first Premier League goal of the season.

Just six minutes later, Burnley were awarded a penalty when Onana misjudged the flight of the ball from a cross before catching Zeki Amdouni in the face.

The Burnley forward stepped up and sent Onana the wrong way to earn his side a crucial point at Old Trafford.

The Cameroon international gave away a late penalty which Zeki Amdouni converted

And United fans took to social media to make their feelings known, with some calling for the Cameroon international to be sold.

One said: ‘Please sell Andre Onana @ManUtd It is a humble request. Same mistake again and again.’

Another wrote: ‘Onana cost us that game. Anyway I have never seen a keeper with so many errors leading to penalties.’

‘How many goals has Onana cost United this season? 2 in last 2 games ….. think total must be at least 6?’ said a third United fan.

United signed Onana for £47m in the summer from Inter Milan but the Champions League finalist has endured an error-strewn start to his time at Old Trafford.

There were high-profile mistakes against Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in the Champions League and a clanger against Brentford in the Premier League.

He looked to have turned the corner last month after winning the club’s Player of the Month award.
